Shanell is the founder of Daughters Rise Up, a Christ‑centered ministry dedicated to helping young girls and women discover their identity, value, and wholeness in God. In 2024, she received a clear commission from the Holy Spirit and was anointed and prayed over by pastors in her family. The word spoken over her—“Don’t be selfish with what I’ve given you. Go help my daughters. Be strong and courageous. Start where you can.”—became the foundation of her calling.
Following that prompting, Shanell began volunteering at the Juvenile Detention Center in the Tampa Bay area, mentoring girls in the very areas she once had to overcome herself: self‑worth, emotional maturity, confidence, self‑control, and learning to process emotions in healthy, constructive ways.
As a domestic violence survivor, Shanell spent years entangled in toxic relationships without realizing how deeply low self‑esteem had shaped her choices. She invested in everyone else but herself, waiting for others to change instead of honoring her own worth. Her healing journey began when she slowed down, confronted her pain, and allowed God into the broken places she had tried to control. Through surrender, stillness, and a renewed relationship with Jesus, her perspective was transformed from the inside out.
Shanell’s story reflects the heart of Daughters Rise Up: the courage to face truth, the commitment to heal, and the belief that loving yourself—truly and biblically—comes first. This is why the ministry embraces the message of Luke 8:48: “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”
Today, Shanell is passionate about breaking cycles of dysfunction, building emotional and spiritual resilience, and creating safe spaces where girls and women can rise into the fullness of who God created them to be. She invites others to partner with the mission—through giving, volunteering, or community collaboration—to bring healing and hope to daughters everywhere, both locally and around the world.
